About Me
John J. Steenbergen
I received my PhD degree in Math from Duke University in 2013. Since then, I have been teaching Calculus and other courses at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My thesis research was focused on connecting the spectral, isoperimetric, and stochastic properties of simplicial complexes, with an eye towards studying the geometry of point cloud data. My educational background is a broad mix of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and philosophy. I live in Evanston, Illinois with my two children.
